Accreditation and Affiliations

The University of Puerto Rico has been an accredited member institution of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools since 1946. Since 1965, the university has been affiliated with the College Entrance Examination Board, which the Río Piedras Campus joined in 1967. The Río Piedras Campus is also affiliated with the Association of Caribbean Universities and Research Institutes (UNICA), the Council of Graduate Schools, the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities, the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges, and the Asociación Universitaria Iberoamericana de Postgrado.

Specific graduate programs are accredited by the following professional entities: American Bar Association, Association of American Law Schools, American Institute of Certified Planners, Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning, American Library Association, Council on Rehabilitation Education, Council on Social Work Education, National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB).
