DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
Requirements for Admission
Students with a bachelor’s
or higher degree from an accredited university can apply for admission.
Admission consists of two stages. In the first, the following elements
will be considered:
- A bachelor degree with a GPA of 3.00 of at least; master’s
GPA of 3.33, if applicable.
- GMAT or EXADEP scores.
- TOEFL scores (for foreign students only).
- Professional and
academic achievement.
- Completion of courses in differential
and integral calculus and linear algebra, or equivalent courses,
with a grade of B or higher; a course in Matrix Algebra is
recommended.
- Statement of purpose.
- Three letters of recommendation, preferably
from professors who have evaluated the candidate (forms will
be provided by the Graduate School).
- Knowledge of statistical
analysis software.
- Access and knowledge in the use of computer.
Requirements for Graduation
In addition to the graduation requirements of the Río Piedras Campus, students are required to pass:
- 64 credits, according to the distribution established in the program of study, with a GPA of no less than 3.00;
- A candidacy examination on the material covered in the core courses;
- A comprehensive examination on the fundamental principles in the area of specialization and other topics relating to the area of study;
- Four credits in doctoral seminars;
- Approve a dissertation.
