Scholarships and Student Loans

Graduate students may be eligible for financial aid by means of the programs administered by the Office of the Dean of Students. Please consult with the Office of Financial Aid for more information on eligibility and availability of the following types of aid:
Scholarships due to financial
need
Work-Study Programs
Student Loans administered by the federal
government
Emergency loans
Puerto Rican Legislature Scholarship Program
(Administered by the schools and the Office of the Dean of Graduate Studies and Research)
This program offers four (3) types
of scholarships which are enabled by assigned funds from the Puerto
Rican Legislature:
- Scholarship Based on Academic Merit and Outstanding Academic
and Professional Performance
- Scholarship for Research Support and Professional Development
- Scholarship for Research Trips
- Scholarship for Congress or Symposium Trips
- Scholarship for the Publication of Research Projects
- Scholarship for Dissertations, Thesis or Equal Proyects
Each scholarship has its own eligibility requirements and different deadlines. The calls for application are announced by the Office of the Dean of Graduate Studies. Students must consult the Office of the Dean of Graduate Studies and Research for more details.
Formative Academic Experience
Program (PEAF)
This program enables the students with the opportunity of performing as graduate assistants in research and teacher’s assistantships. The selected students are exempt from payment of tuition fees and also receive a monthly stipend. Students must consult the Office of the Dean of Graduate Studies and Research for more details.
Institutional Research
Funds Program (FIPI in spanish)
(Administered by the Office of the Dean of Graduate Studies and Research)
The Institutional Research Fund
Program (FIPI in Spanish) accepts research and creative activity
proposals submitted by professors individually or by groups of
professors for collaboration and interdisciplinary projects with
undergraduate and graduate students'participation.
