Requirements for Admission
Applicants must fulfill the following requirements:
- A bachelors degree in any discipline, with a grade point
average of 3.00
- EXADEP and GRE scores, taken no more than three
years before filling the application for admission
- Two letters
of recommendation
- Statement of purpose
- Full command of Spanish and English. Classes
are generally given in Spanish however many publications in
the field of information sciences and technology are in English,
as well as many conferences given by visiting professors.

Excellent
writing skills, computer literacy, and basic skills in
statistics.
Requirements for Graduation
- Complete 38 credits, with a grade point average of 3.00.
- Pass
the comprehensive examination, which may be taken after completion
of the 14 credits in core courses.
- Present, defend, and submit
a master’s thesis or project.
The student will submit three bounded copies and one copy
on a 3.5-inch floppy disk. The student may not enroll
in the thesis before having passed the comprehensive
exam and having completed 31 credits. The student will
have a maximum of 4 semesters to complete and defend
the thesis or project.
- Present a cumulative
academic portfolio demonstrating the student’s
accomplishments and experiences throughout the program.
