Tren Urbano
This rapid transportation system, known as the Tren Urbano (Urban Train), stretches 11 miles (17.6 km) through the metropolitan area. This line serves the areas with the highest population density on the island, connecting the central business district to areas in San Juan and neighboring communities where people live and work. The stations are: Santurce, Hato Rey, Roosevelt, Domenech, Piñero, Universidad, Río Piedras, Cupey, Centro Médico, San Francisco, Las Lomas, Martínez Nadal, Torrimar, Jardines, Deportivo, and Bayamón.
- This system uses electric trains that travel at 55 miles per tour (88 kph). Most of the route is elevated, a large section is at ground level, and a third part is underground.
- There are 16 stations strategically located in business and residential areas with the highest population density and the most traffic.
- Trains leave every 4 minutes during peak hours and every 10 to 12 minutes during off-peak hours.
- The estimated travel time from Bayamón to Santurce is 30 minutes.
- The total system has 74 cars.
- Prices: General public- $1.50; students with identification- $0.75; people over 60 years of age, disabled people, and Llame y Viaje participants- $0.75. The price includes transfer to the bus system.
- Tren Urbano Schedule :
Monday through Sunday, 5:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
- Bus (AMA and Metrobús) Schedule:
Monday through Sunday, 4:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Autoridad Metropolitana de Autobuses (Metropolitan Bus Authority)
AMA provides bus service to 7 municipalities in the San Juan Metropolitan Area. This service is composed of 28 regular routes and 2 express routes. All busses have air conditioning and provide safe, comfortable transportation. The cost for regular routes is 25¢. The Metrobús II costs 50¢.
