ABOUT INVENTIO
Inventio, derived from the Latin word meaning "finding" or "discovery," is a bilingual magazine highlighting the research, service, and creative endeavors of the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. Articles may be summarized in the translation. Publication abstracts are written in the language of the publication.
Inventio is produced twice a year, in March and October, by the Office of the Dean of Graduate Studies and Research. It is available at selected bookstores in Puerto Rico and by subscription.
Mission Statement
The mission of Inventio magazine is to present the research, service and creative endeavors of the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, in an interesting format in both Spanish and English, to make the information generally accessible in order to:
- Foster collaborative-interdisciplinary work among professors and students by establishing a medium through which they can become acquainted with each other's work.
- Stimulate collaborative efforts and support by informing the community, business, industry, other universities, and government agencies about the Campus's research facilities, faculty and student projects, and scholarly achievements.
- Promote graduate programs and support by making known the Campus's potential for research and creative activity, expertise, and service to the community.
- Strengthen the Campus's relationships with alumni by conveying the crucial role Campus endeavors play in society.
