MEI YU
The Institute for Tropical Ecosystem Studies welcomes Associate
Professor Mei Yu to their faculty. Dr. Yu earned a Ph.D. in plant
ecology from the Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences
and a B.S. in probability and statistics from Beijing Normal University.
She conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Virginia,
Colorado State University, and University of Connecticut. Her research
interests are broad, covering applications of GIS and remote sensing
in natural resources management, biodiversity analysis on permanent
plots, and ecological models for species distribution prediction
and climate change. Her current research projects include predicting
potential distribution of Rhododendron L., responses of ecosystem
processes to climate change at landscape scale, and biodiversity
richness patterns in Eastern China.
