Summer Workshops for Graduate Students

This activity objective is to develop and strengthen among graduate students those scientific research skills that reflect the best practices in research on the fields of Natural and Social Sciences.

Fifty (50) graduate students from the Colleges of Natural and Social Sciences will participate in two-week summer workshops that will include topics such as: 

  • Quantitative and qualitative scientific methods

  • Statistical basis of data gathering and mining

  • Critical analysis of scientific literature and scientific reasoning

  • Scientific writing in English, including manuscript and proposal preparation

  • Presentation and publication of research results

  • Mentor-trainee relationships

  • Research ethics

Summer Workshop Program (PDF)

Benefits: Selected graduate students will receive a Career Development Certificate and $1,000 stipend once they complete all the workshops. There are no fees or tuition costs.
